Food Cartography Experiment

For three days, January 30th - February 1st 2009, I kept a visual journal of everything I ate and a written journal of where it came from (according to the addresses found on the back of the packages). Then, I placed that information in Google Maps to create three "food journey maps" that show where my food was produced and how that location relates to my current whereabouts in Iowa City, IA.

I am very happy with the way this project turned out--especially the images. Seeing all the food I consumed over a three day period laid out in front of me at once is disgusting yet wonderfully portrait-like at the same time.
